I do think that Lawro is under-estimating us on the break.
Sam will remind the boys that at 0-0 the game is still Sunderland's to take by the scruff of the neck as they are at home. And when they do I don't think offensively they are that good. That should leave them open for us to go through.
I am going to say 1-2 with a late goal from them.

Mersons Prediction:
The Premier League is that good that it’s so hard to predict these scores. West Ham are flying at the top and Sunderland are not doing great but, again, I just can't separate these teams. West Ham have done great but I don’t see them winning here. The Stadium of Light is a hard place to go and I think Big Sam will be silently thinking ‘I’ll settle for a point here’.
Obviously they want to win but you’ve got make sure you don’t lose as this is where the points mount up across the season. Suddenly going to Sunderland and getting a draw is a good result. I think this is a hard game and I think Sunderland are alright. I know they got beat by City but they went to Liverpool and were very comfortable.

Yes they had a good result against Liverpool and Chelsea but this is a game where their thick fucking plank fans will expect them to attack.

This will be a very interesting game for us. The hammer's of old would have gone up there in shit weather in mid December and decided to lose before going on the pitch.
Now? We have some real winners in the side and more than a bit of steel and skill.
If we get a win up there it will be an indicator for us as we start a long Xmas and winter campaign.
That, plus Lawrenson' s a scouse anyway who thinks he's witty but in reality is simply a cunt.

Interesting comments about the style of play under Poyet. A fair few on here would have had him instead of BFS last season.
The Black Cats drew with Liverpool last time out with a really disciplined defensive performance at Anfield.
Sunderland did exactly the same when I watched them against Everton last month - everyone held their positions and did not move out to give Liverpool any space.

Sunderland look a mid table side at the moment. Notable draws with Chelsea, Everton and Liverpool recently.
Good test for us - especially being away. A win there would be good but if not we will want to pick up something.
Can't take any result for granted in this league.
Every side capable on their day but I'm hoping we are consistent and just have too much for them. Another 2-1 to us I reckon.
